MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Brightstar Corp. today announced that Paul Galant has been named Chief Executive Officer and member of the Board of Directors of Brightstar Corp. to lead the company into its next level of growth and innovation.
Mr. Galant is an experienced global leader with deep expertise in financial services and technology with a proven track record of driving significant growth and value creation through disciplined management and innovation.
Most recently, Mr. Galant served as Chief Executive Officer and member of the Board of Directors of VeriFone Systems Inc. and successfully drove a 5- year transformation of Verifone from a terminal-sales company into a services-platform company delivering omni-channel payment and commerce solutions to enable new sales and reduce costs for clients.
More recently, Mr. Galant led the take-private $3.4 billion transaction between VeriFone and private equity firm, Francisco Partners.
Prior to joining VeriFone, Mr. Galant served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Enterprise Payments business at Citigroup Inc. from 2010 until joining VeriFone in 2013. In that role, he oversaw the design, marketing and implementation of comprehensive business-to-consumer and consumer-to-business payments solutions for the world's largest global corporations, financial institutions, and governments. In his prior roles at Citigroup, Paul led the transaction services and credit card business.
Mr. Galant has also joined SoftBank as an Operating Partner.
