NEWARK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, EyeQue®, the leader of at-home vision solutions, announced the appointment of Datta Nadkarni as its first chief marketing officer (CMO). At EyeQue, Nadkarni will oversee global marketing, focused on driving consumer and practitioner adoption as the company expands beyond the United States into international markets. He joins after successful tenures at leading global companies including LensCrafters, Vision Express, Coca-Cola, Colgate-Palmolive, Philips Electronics, and Farmers Insurance.
“At EyeQue, we’re redefining eye care by putting vision screeners directly into consumers’ hands,” said Dr. John Serri, co-founder and CTO of EyeQue. “Datta brings a wealth of marketing and business development experience and was instrumental in what could be considered the first consumer revolution in eye care – the introduction of premium quality one-hour eyeglasses in the U.S. and several international markets. We’re thrilled to bring Datta onboard to help EyeQue usher in the next era in eye care – at-home vision testing.”
Nadkarni brings more than 25 years of marketing, sales, and business development experience with extensive work on global consumer product and service initiatives. He will focus on EyeQue’s global marketing strategy and developing partnerships with eye doctors and the vision-care community.
“As telehealth expands to meet the needs of the modern consumer, vision care must advance along with it. EyeQue is democratizing vision correction through technologies and services that will one day be viewed as the norm,” said Datta Nadkarni, CMO of EyeQue. “I’m delighted to join a team of innovators creating technology and devices that empower both consumers and eye care professionals to take advantage of smart, convenient vision solutions outside of the doctor’s office.”
Nadkarni’s appointment comes as EyeQue embarks on an exciting roadmap of new product and service offerings. EyeQue currently offers two intelligent vision solutions with more than 17,000 devices in the hands of consumers. The EyeQue Insight, a visual acuity screener that can also be used for cataract monitoring (MSRP $90), and the Personal Vision Tracker, a mobile refraction error test that enables people to order glasses online with EyeGlass Numbers (MSRP $30). Both devices leverage patented processing algorithms and optical technologies that present test results and track vision changes over time. All EyeQue devices are currently available and sold directly to consumers.
About EyeQue
EyeQue® is the leader of at-home vision testing, bringing affordable eye care to everyone. The Company is dedicated to putting accurate vision tests directly into the hands of people around the world. Based on patented technologies, EyeQue’s intelligent vision solutions allow people anywhere to self-administer vision tests using an optical smartphone attachment, mobile application, and a secure cloud-based processing and service center. The Company innovates from its Silicon Valley headquarters.
EyeQue does not issue prescriptions. The EyeQue Personal Vision Tracker accurately measures for refractive error and detects changes between regular eye exams. These tests do not replace a comprehensive eye exam that evaluates ocular health and binocularity. EyeQue strongly recommends people visit an eye care professional annually to receive a complete eye health exam.
