CHELMSFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ZOLL® Medical Corporation, an Asahi Kasei Group Company that manufactures medical devices and related software solutions, announced today that it was awarded $1.8 million in damages plus $3.6 million in attorneys’ fees, costs and interest for breach of contract by AutoMedx, LLC. The arbitrator also denied all of AutoMedx’s claims against ZOLL and its subsidiary, Advanced Circulatory Systems Inc. (ACSI).
The dispute arose from ACSI’s termination of a product development agreement due to AutoMedx’s failure to perform. In response to the termination, AutoMedx sued ZOLL and ACSI in federal court, seeking in excess of $50 million in damages. As required by contract and as a result of ZOLL’s motions, all of the claims in that case were sent to arbitration.
