LOS ANGELES & HONG KONG--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Noor Menai, President & CEO of CTBC Bank USA, this week will join Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and a delegation of other business leaders and city officials on a trade mission to Hanoi, Ho Chi Min City and Hong Kong, aimed at strengthening relationships and boosting investments in Los Angeles. The Mayor is also scheduled for separate meetings in Seoul and Tokyo.
“Los Angeles is a global city with partners and interests all over the world — and we have a special bond with our neighbors on the Pacific Rim,” said Mayor Garcetti. “Tourism and trade with Asia are integral to our local economy, international investment creates jobs for Angelenos, cultural exchange brings our people closer together, and cooperation on the biggest challenges will determine the future of the planet. I am thrilled about the progress we will make on this trade mission and look forward to seeing our friends in Tokyo, Seoul, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Hong Kong.”
“I am honored to join the Mayor and his esteemed business delegation as part of the Los Angeles Business Council’s partnership with the City to promote investment and relationships and open new doors for our region’s prosperity,” said Menai, who also serves as a Board Member of LABC.
In Hong Kong, Menai will moderate a panel event focusing on trade and investment with Mayor Garcetti and business leaders and international and local media. Additional speakers on the panel will include Mary Leslie, President of the Los Angeles Business Council, David Hart, President of Steinberg Hart, Brad Cox, Senior Managing Director of Trammell Crow Company and David Nahai, a Partner of Lewis Brisbois, President of David Nahai Consulting and former CEO of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.
“The Los Angeles Business Council is proud to be here with our members, including CTBC Bank USA and Steinberg Hart, to build on the momentum started with Mayor Garcetti’s first Asian trade mission in 2014,” said LABC’s Leslie. “We look forward to cultivating new alliances to promote economic and environmental development in L.A. and the Pacific Rim.”
