MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--As part of its ongoing commitment to build and grow sports products enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of sports fans every day, SportsHub Games Network, Inc. (“SportsHub”) has announced today the launch of their player activation and monetization platform, SportsHub Games Network (“SHGN”). SHGN is a completely reimagined network of sites bundled with promotion, monetization and compliance services designed to serve the $7 billion fantasy sports market.
“The regulatory environment for the fantasy sports industry has changed drastically over the course of the past two years,” said Rob Phythian, Founder and CEO of SportsHub. “Companies are now required to be licensed in many states, and the cost and requirements of compliance have become burdensome and prohibitive for companies with limited resources. With our integrated platform that manages user identity, monetization, and compliance, we can bring even more compelling experiences and an unparalleled breadth and quality of gaming services and content to our customers.”
SHGN will provide SportsHub and its partners the ability to easily integrate player activation and monetization technology to their existing portfolio of games and contests, including utilizing SportsHub's expertise in real money gaming and compliance to increase player liquidity and financial performance. The SHGN foundation is built on five core components:
- Accounting: A shared electronic system that provides transactional oversight and transparency, facilitates entry fee payments and prize payouts, and allows users to participate in contests across the SportsHub Games Network;
- Compliance: A compliance engine that includes meticulous administration and reporting procedures to comply with Federal and state laws and regulations;
- User Identity: An identity server that manages a single registration and authentication process across our network;
- Marketing: A suite of marketing tools like banner ads, e-mail announcements, push notifications, and integrated marketing to cross-promote products and services;
- Reporting: The platform also provides all of the needed analytical tools and reports required for the sports gaming industry to measure and optimize funnels and increase profits by redistributing advertising channels.
In addition, veteran technology executive Krish Dasgupta has joined SportsHub from ESPN, where he was the Vice President of Advanced Development, to serve as the Company's CTO and oversee SHGN.
“As SportsHub continues to develop new products and diversifies its portfolio, we’re excited to bring on an engineering leader in Krish who can evolve our platform and help capture the immense opportunity in the sports gaming sector,” said Phythian. “Krish’s experience leading global engineering teams, building world-class software and deserved reputation as an innovative thinker make him a tremendous fit to help lead SportsHub’s next phase of accelerated growth. I'm delighted to officially welcome Krish on board and look forward to his contributions to SportsHub’s continued success.”
“We’re incredibly excited to be sharing these details about the SportsHub Games Network,” said Dasgupta. “I left ESPN to join a company that would fundamentally change the way we create, network, promote, and monetize sports games and content. SportsHub’s rapidly evolving marketplace presents unique opportunities, and the long-term potential for the company is impressive. The talent across the organization -- particularly the commitment to excellence on the product and engineering teams -- will allow us to build even more amazing experiences for customers and partners.”
SportsHub will continue to grow through both organic growth and M&A and anticipates several additional announcements in the future. Dasgupta’s hire is the latest in a string of senior leaders joining SportsHub to help create products and services for all sports fans. SportsHub previously added top talent to its roster through the acquisitions CDM Sports and Sports Technologies in 2016. It followed those initial deals with the acquisitions of LeagueSafe, National Fantasy Championships, WhatIfSports and MFL10s in 2017.
