Data Privacy Automation Provider Integris Software Secures Oversubscribed $10 Million Series A Financing Round

Led by Aspect Ventures, with participation from Workday Ventures, the funding will help company meet demand in high-growth privacy market

SEATTLE--()--Integris Software, a leading provider of data privacy automation, today announced it has raised an oversubscribed $10 million Series A financing round led by Aspect Ventures with participation from Workday Ventures, Madrona Venture Group, and Amplify Partners. The round brings Integris Software’s total funding to $13M.

Integris will use the funding to continue to build on its industry-leading data privacy automation platform and meet the accelerating demand for a comprehensive data privacy solution. Recent developments in data privacy, such as the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the upcoming California state law AB375, are driving urgency for solutions that help organizations build and maintain a defensible data privacy strategy.

"Global CTOs are realizing that complying with privacy law is essentially a data problem and that without an automated discovery mechanism for sensitive information, they’re flying blind on what data is important to secure and why,” said Kristina Bergman, CEO of Integris Software. “It is important that companies are able to leverage their most valuable data while proving they are acting with integrity, but they haven’t had the technology to do so until now.”

Today, data has become the single most important asset for many organizations. As a result, enterprises need a defendable and scalable data privacy solution that can adapt to a constantly evolving data landscape.

“We invested in Integris because they were the only company that had the technology to operate at the scale and level of automation required to support a successful compliance strategy,” said Mark Kraynak, partner at Aspect Ventures and new Integris board member. “Traditional security tools simply aren’t designed to identify and monitor data for the purposes of privacy compliance. Survey-based privacy solutions are helpful for documenting privacy policy, but they fall short when it comes to actually implementing those policies in a manner that’s defensible.”

Relying on surveys to identify sensitive information – a common practice in many organizations – exposes organizations to risk, as the survey method requires manual work and is subject to human error.

“Integris is a unique vendor that, through automation, can discover data at rest or in motion, structured or unstructured, on premise or in the cloud,” said Mark Peek, managing director and co-head, Workday Ventures. “Companies need to be able to produce evidence that shows what sensitive information has been deleted or rectified.”
