NACD Texas TriCities Board of Directors Embraces Board Diversity

Chapter elects female president and three new female board members

HOUSTON--()--The NACD Texas TriCities Chapter (serving Austin, Houston, and San Antonio) recently elected Barbara Duganier as president of the chapter, the first female to serve in that role since the chapter’s inception in 2003. Duganier serves on the board of Buckeye Partners, MRC Global, and Noble Energy, as well as two nonprofit boards, Genesys Works and NACD Texas TriCities, on which she has served for three years actively contributing to program development.

Barbara is highly qualified to serve in the role of president, and we are fortunate to have her level of talent and leadership,” remarked Bud Giesinger, the chapter’s newly elected chairman and former president.

Four new directors were also elected to the chapter board: Diane Sanchez, director, Latin Business Today and Seabras 1 and advisor, Partners Group; Amy Nelson, director, Apache Corporation; Gracie Renbarger, director, Glasshouse Policy and Dress for Success Worldwide; and Will Hardee, managing director, RBC and director, PBC Wetlands Mitigation Bank. Mr. Hardee was also recently elected as Houston sponsorship co-chair.

Thirty-five percent of the chapter’s board members are women. Nominating and Governance Chair Alan Crain stated, “The board of NACD Texas TriCities is committed to driving best practices in diversity. Our board succession planning process focuses on diversity in terms of training, experience, gender, race, culture, and other characteristics in order to ensure we have the best thought leaders in our boardroom.”

Duganier stated, “I am pleased to serve the NACD Texas TriCities Chapter in the capacity of president and look forward to guiding the chapter in its endeavor to provide world-class programming and governance resources to the local director community. With the support and insights of our existing and new board members, the chapter is well positioned for the future.”
