MONAT Gratitude Initiative Raises More Than $100,000 for Veterans

MIAMI--()--MONAT Gratitude, the philanthropic movement behind MONAT® Global (MONAT), a multinational manufacturer and distributor of premium hair care products, donated $107,000 to four nonprofits that help veterans. Representatives from two of the nonprofits, The Wounded Warrior Project and The 22 Project, were in attendance at MONAT’s Palooza 2018 to receive the donation. The funds for this donation were raised through MONAT’s “More Than a Hand Cream” initiative.

MONAT offered More Than a Hand Cream as a limited-edition product with 100% of the gross profits benefitting veterans in need in the US, Canada and the UK. Recipients include The Wounded Warrior Project, Running 4 Vets and The 22 Project in the United States, Help for Heroes in the UK and Wounded Warriors Canada. The product was slated to be available from Memorial Day (May 28) until July 4 but was sold out by June 20.

“MONAT believes strongly in giving back, and this has been our biggest initiative to date,” said Stuart MacMillan, President of MONAT Global. “Through this limited-edition Gratitude product, we are honoring those who have given the most by sacrificing their lives and celebrating those that are still with us today.”

The Wounded Warrior Project was founded in 2003 by a group of veterans and friends who took action to help the injured service men and women of this generation. Their mission is to honor and empower Wounded Warriors who incurred a physical or mental injury, illness, or wound during their military service. WWP knows that the transition to civilian life is a journey, and they are there every step of the way.

In 2012, the Department of Veterans Affairs Mental Health Services Suicide Program determined that 22 veterans commit suicide each day in our country. The 22 Project supports underserved war veterans who have traumatic brain injuries and are at risk for depression and/or suicide. In collaboration with physicians, therapists and health care workers, The 22 Project provides advanced medical treatments to reduce a veteran’s risk of depression and/or suicide at no cost to the veteran.

Help for Heroes supports those with injuries and illnesses attributable to their service in the British Armed Forces. Every penny they raise, facility they run and activity they offer is to help Veterans and Service Personnel reach their potential, regain their purpose and have a positive impact on society. They believe that those prepared to put their lives second deserve a second chance at life.

Wounded Warriors Canada’s mission is to honor and support Canada’s ill and injured Canadian Armed Forces members, veterans, first responders and their families. Whether it is through their mental health challenges, the pioneering initiatives they fund through third-party partnerships, or their individual support management Hand Up program, Wounded Warriors Canada is committed to ensuring they provide a diverse set of programs and services for wounded soldiers and their families.

Running 4 Vets is a new organization that was founded by veteran Trista Boyenga with the goal of bringing veterans' organizations together to better serve and facilitate comprehensive needs of veterans. They host runs and events to support individuals and groups.

“We are so humbled and thankful for the support from our Market Partners and everyone who purchased our limited-edition More Than a Hand Cream,” said Lu Urdaneta, Director, Global Recognition and Gratitude. “We’re grateful that we have the opportunity to give back to men and women who have sacrificed so much for our freedoms.”
