Solutionreach Collaborates with Patient Advocate Voices to Share The Patient Perspective

Dave deBronkart, Amanda Greene and Barby Ingle partner with Solutionreach to share insight and advice for providers regarding patient relationship management

LEHI, Utah--()--A new partnership between Solutionreach, a leader in patient relationship management (PRM) solutions, and three well-known patient advocates will bring the “voice of the patient” straight to providers, with communication insights that will help improve patient relationship management.

Collaborating with three influential voices—Dave deBronkart (@ePatient Dave), Amanda Greene (@LALupusLady) and Barby Ingle (@BarbyIngle and @PowerofPain)—Solutionreach looks to bring firsthand perspectives to providers on the importance of building and maintaining meaningful patient relationships.

Their insights—coming from years of experience navigating the healthcare system while managing chronic conditions or battling cancer—will give providers unique perspective into what patients want from their relationships with physicians and their practices.

“This partnership offers the unique opportunity for providers to gain meaningful, real-world insight and advice from three people who not only advocate for patients on a grand scale, but have intimate knowledge of what it’s like to navigate our healthcare system in times of crisis,” says Jim Higgins, Solutionreach founder and CEO. “Rather than sharing things like company marketing mantras and shallow tips and tricks, we want to create platforms where a variety of personal, authentic voices can be available to our practices as a resource.”

The first pieces resulting from this collaboration—“Having A Primary Care Doctor on Call Even Between Appointments” by Barby Ingle and “Keep in Touch—The Hallmark of Good Relationships,” written by deBronkart—have been published. For ongoing insight from these patient advocate partners, bookmark the Solutionreach blog.

About the Advocates

Solutionreach’s patient advocate bloggers have followings of nearly 112,000 people across four social media accounts and frequently speak about their care experiences on a national level:

Dave deBronkart (on Twitter: @ePatient Dave) is one of the world’s leading advocates for patient engagement and the author of the highly rated Let Patients Help: A Patient Engagement Handbook. After beating stage IV kidney cancer in 2007, deBronkart became a blogger, health policy advisor and international keynote speaker. Today, he is the most well-known spokesperson for the patient engagement movement, attending more than 500 conferences and policy meetings in 18 countries and testifying in Washington, D.C., for patient access to their medical records. His TED Talk, Let Patients Help, ranks in the top 50 percent of most-viewed Ted Talks of all time, with more than half a million views. In addition to actively blogging, he runs a podcast, “Power of the Patient.”

Amanda Greene (on Twitter: @LALupusLady) is an advocate for patients with Lupus and raises awareness and support for Lupus and the Lupus community. Greene was diagnosed with Lupus at the age of 15 and continually explores new resources to manage her symptoms. Today, Greene not only “lives with Lupus,” but is thriving in spite of her diagnosis—which is not as easy as it sounds. Greene regularly seeks opportunities to represent the patient voice in healthcare. When she experienced her first major flare-up, she live-tweeted about the experience. Greene also served as a Social Media Narrator for the “Great Challenges” program at TEDMED 2013 and speaks about her experiences on a national level.

Barby Ingle (on Twitter: @BarbyIngle and @powerofpain) is an advocate for all who live with chronic pain as well as their families, caregivers and healthcare professionals. She is president of the International Pain Foundation. Her best-selling book, From Wheels to Heals, chronicles her experience with Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, a progressive, neuro-autoimmune condition that affects multiple systems in the body and left her confined to her bed for years. Ingle is also a Reality TV personality and a national speaker, sharing the impact her condition and the attitude she maintains in spite of the pain she experiences have had on her life.
