SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Helic, Inc. announced today that its electromagnetic (EM) modeling engine and RaptorX™ have been certified for GLOBALFOUNDRIES 22nm FD-SOI (22FDX®) process technology, enabling designers to achieve EM design implementation and predictable analysis and signoff results using industry leading EM design tools by Helic.
Key tools and features of the Helic EM modelling and analysis platform certified for the 22FDX process include:
- EM modelling engine
- EM Crosstalk analysis and signoff tools
- Many Inductor, Spiral, and Capacitor devices with various stacking options (metal options 11,13,19, and 20)
- Comparison data between the Helic device models and actual silicon measurements showing very accurate correlation up to 110 GHz
“Our collaboration with GF has been focused on delivering the electromagnetic modeling platform and device IP needed for seamless adoption of the FD-SOI technology at 22 nanometers and smaller geometries,” said Dr. Magdy Abadir, corporate vice president of marketing and business development for Helic. “Together, Helic's EM platform and GF’s 22FDX technology enables designers to leverage the performance and power benefits offered by this process. Helic’s accuracy compared to silicon measurements exceeded all of the qualification criteria established by GF. This demonstrates our ability to include LDE and all EM sensitive issues needed for today’s high performance processes.”
Jariet Technologies, Inc, a mutual customer of Helic and GF, has already been a beneficiary of this collaboration. “Using the Helic EM modeling engine and tools has allowed us to achieve our EM signoff goals for high sample-rate transceiver designs in other GF technologies, while completing those designs in record time. We look forward to using this certified kit in our 22FDX designs,” said Eric Mrozek, Principal RF Systems Engineer, Jariet Technologies.
