BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Buildium today announced that it has appointed Christopher (Chris) Litster as Chief Executive Officer and successor to Michael Monteiro, effective July 1, 2018. Co-founder and current CEO, Michael Monteiro, will remain with the company, and continue to serve on the Buildium Board of Directors.
Since January 2017, Litster has served as Buildium’s Chief Customer Officer, managing the customer-facing teams for the business, and has been “a core reason the fourteen-year-old company sees continued acceleration and growth rates north of 30% year-over-year,” says Monteiro. Prior to joining Buildium, Litster served as SVP and Chief Revenue Officer at Constant Contact, where he spent over ten years building the business through its billion dollar sale to Endurance in February of 2016.
"When I came to Buildium, I knew there was something special,” says Litster. “There’s an opportunity to do what I had so loved doing over the past ten years: building a company through scale. The chance to do it with a co-founder and accomplished, great entrepreneur like Michael made it a no-brainer. I am thrilled to take a more significant role in driving the company forward."
“The opportunity in front of Chris and the Buildium team is one few companies have,” says John Brennan, Managing Director of Sumeru Equity Partners and Member of Buildium’s Board of Directors. “We have witnessed the impact Chris has had on the business in a short period of time, and his attention to building relationships with teams, partners, and most importantly, customers, is a recipe for long-term success. We could not be more optimistic about what’s to come.”
When thinking about what’s different about Buildium, and how the company will seize the opportunity ahead, Litster explains, “At Buildium, it’s about alignment and working towards the same vision. It's not just about quota for the rep, or code for the engineer; it's about the success of the entire company, how the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. When everything works well together, our customers win. And that means we win."
