National Association of Specialty Pharmacy to Host a Pre-Conference Workshop on Home Infusion Therapy

CRANBURY, N.J.--()--The National Association of Specialty Pharmacy (NASP), a nonprofit organization representing all stakeholders in the specialty pharmacy industry, including the nation’s leading specialty pharmacies, pharmaceutical and biotechnology manufacturers, health plans and integrated delivery systems, is pleased to announce the addition of a pre-conference workshop on home infusion on September 24 at 7 a.m. at the Marriott Wardman Park in Washington, D.C. The event will be held prior to 6th Annual Meeting and Educational Conference by NASP.

“NASP is thrilled to welcome subject matter experts from the National Home Infusion Association (NHIA) to provide our Annual Meeting attendees with a unique opportunity to learn more about the regulatory, legal, operational and clinical complexities of the home infusion industry. With so many shared challenges and opportunities between specialty pharmacy and home infusion we are excited to offer this valuable program as an expansion of our educational offerings,” said Sheila Arquette, executive director of NASP.

This one-day workshop includes a robust agenda and features renowned healthcare experts, who will discuss pressing issues faced by the home infusion care pharmacists. Attendees will gain insight into commercial reimbursement, challenges with Medicare and Medicaid, referral flow, staffing roles, compliance, patient oversight and government affairs. Additionally, presenters will discuss business development methods and strategies. The event also includes a networking reception.

The 6th Annual NASP Meeting and Educational Conference is designed to educate the specialty pharmacy industry about the emerging scientific and therapeutic advances and rapidly changing regulatory and legislative environment focusing on clinical outcomes with the impact to the patient at the center. The event is geared towards pharmacy directors, senior executives, consultants and managed care organizations.
