CHERRY VALLEY, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mutual Reinsurance Bureau, a joint reinsurance association, has announced a name change to Mutual Re. While the official name will remain the same for legal documents such as Interests & Liabilities, the new moniker is part of a branding change which is introducing a new logo, and the shortened name for marketing purposes.
“As we approach our 100-year anniversary in 2021, we felt the time was right to drop the ‘bureau’ from our name” said John Meyers, President and CEO. “That word harkens back to a bygone era of reinsurance, and while we embrace our history, we need to be poised for continued success in the future. The shorter name is less confusing, more descriptive of our mission, and more in line with the names of our fellow reinsurers. It was also a natural fit for us, since we already owned the domain mutualre.com.”
