Cheddar Acquires Daily Newsletter with over 350,000 Active Subscribers

“Need2Know” to incorporate Cheddar’s original reporting, exclusive interviews, scoops, and social media videos

NEW YORK--()--Cheddar, the leading post cable networks company, today announced it has acquired Need2Know, a free daily newsletter with more than 350,000 US subscribers covering business, tech, politics, world events, sports and entertainment. Cheddar plans to incorporate the Need 2 Know brand and content into Cheddar Big News, its general news network.

“Need2Know is a perfect marriage with Cheddar Big News. Both are focused on the day’s top stories with an emphasis on nothing-but-the-facts reporting. Need2Know is the first thing many subscribers check when they wake up and now they can tune into Cheddar Big News throughout the day to learn more,” said Eric Harris, President and COO at Cheddar. “It has built a trusted relationship with its audience by delivering news in a voice that's relatable, non-partisan and easy to digest.”

Need2Know is an essential news digest that synthesizes and succinctly explains the day’s top stories. While the tone and scope of the newsletter will remain largely the same, Cheddar will incorporate its original reporting, exclusive interviews and viral social media videos. Need2Know co-founder and Cheddar Big News anchor Jill Wagner will lead the transition and continue to write for the newsletter.
