Production of Starch Sugar in China 2014-2016 - ResearchAndMarkets.com

DUBLIN--()--The "Production of Starch Sugar in China 2014-2016" report has been added to ResearchAndMarkets.com's offering.

This report is a detailed analysis on the production of starch sugar from 2014 to 2016, as well as ex-works price and market demand situation. This report also presents the annual review of hot spots in domestic starch sugar industry in 2016.

Major producers and distribution of starch sugars were given and studied in the report. Major producers include Global Sweeteners, Zhucheng Dongxiao, Luzhou Bio-Chem and Baolingbao, etc.

Starch sugar industry has faced various challenges in recent years, but at the same time, the challenges may push forward the development and innovation of the production and process technology, which would improve the quality, enrich the varieties, and enlarge the application of starch sugar products.

China has seen rapid development in corn deep processing industry in recent years and the output of starch sugars has been on a rising trend as a whole since 2009 due to the fast increase in sugar consumption and the rapid growth of the output of sugar-containing foods.

In 2011, the output of sucrose, the main substitute for sucrose, declined dramatically and sucrose price rose substantially, which stimulated the starch sugar industry. The output of starch sugars reached about 12.80 million tonnes in 2011. In 2011-2014, aiming to gain market share in the starch sugar market, many enterprises invested in starch sugar projects, thus the capacity of starch sugar increased sharply.

However, the downstream demand for sugar-containing foods remained flat and the output of sucrose gradually increased after 2011, which resulted in overcapacity in starch sugar industry.

The output of starch sugar was 12.20 million tonnes in 2012 and 2013, and declined to 8.9 million tonnes in 2015. From 2014 to 2016, the domestic starch sugar industry has been in a stable stage, developing at a relatively slow speed, which is mainly due to the policy impact (environmental protection for corn deep processing industry, etc.), overcapacity and saturated consumption.
