ORLANDO, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Future Facilities, provider of design and capacity planning software for data centers, today announced that CTO Mark Seymour will participate in the morning keynote session of the 7X24 Xchange spring meeting this week at the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek.
Large data center operators such as Facebook, Google, eBay and others have vast resources to fully optimize their data centers for reliability and efficiency. Due to limited financial resources, however, many average sized data centers must turn to commercial, off-the-shelf (COTS) components and implement their own management techniques that may not be the most up-to-date. During the keynote panel titled “The Coming of Age of Data Centers Built Using Stock Components: Intelligent Self-Sensing, Self-Regulating Data Centers” Mark Seymour will join other distinguished keynote panelists to provide a roadmap for operating COTS data centers. During his brief presentation and subsequent panel discussion, Mr. Seymour will discuss how legacy data centers and colocation facilities can improve data center performance and reliability by employing predictive analysis to view their IT assets, including temperature and airflow distribution within the data center. Additionally, Mr. Seymour and the panel will cover the upside and downside of requiring data centers to be run by intelligent operating systems using controls, distributed sensing and self-learning algorithms.
“I’m delighted to have the opportunity to participate in this panel which will help give rank-and-file data centers the opportunity to gain more control over while increasing reliability and efficiency,” said Mark Seymour, CTO, Future Facilities. “By implementing operational guidelines, COTS data centers can create a data center environment that utilizes 21st century practices without large capital outlays.”
