LUXEMBOURG--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SES Government Solutions (SES GS), a wholly owned subsidiary of SES, has signed a single-award Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) with the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) for Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) low-latency High Throughput Satellite (HTS) services. The total amount of all orders placed against the BPA cannot exceed USD 516.7 million over a five-year period of performance from 1 May 2018 through 30 April 2023.
With this agreement, U.S. DoD customers will have the opportunity to access SES’s industry-leading O3b MEO services worldwide. The BPA scope of work includes managed services (HTS capacity and broadband services, gateway services, and monitoring and control services), satellite terminals, field service representative (FSR) support, training and terrestrial backhaul.
“SES GS is excited to receive this award and looks forward to expediting service delivery to our DoD customers,” said Pete Hoene, SES GS President and CEO. “This vehicle will enhance resiliency while enabling global access to fiber-like communications worldwide.”
SES GS currently provides over five Gbps of MEO HTS capability to 18 different U.S. Government sites worldwide. U.S. Government customers have access to 16 O3b MEO satellites. In 2021, these end users will have access to O3b mPOWER, the next-generation satellite-based communications system that sets new industry benchmarks for capacity, flexibility and coverage.
