Rite Aid Foundation Launches New KidCents Regional Grant Program

Grants of Up to $30,000 Available to Nonprofit Organizations that Focus on Improving the Health and Well-Being of Children through Healthy Eating, Active Living and Education

CAMP HILL, Pa.--()--As part of its commitment to improving the lives of children in communities served by Rite Aid, The Rite Aid Foundation announced today the launch of its KidCents Regional Grant Program. The new program, designed to support nonprofit organizations that serve children, will award grants ranging from $15,000 - $30,000.

“The Rite Aid Foundation is committed to improving the health and well-being of children and creating a safe environment for them to live and grow,” said Tracy Henderson, director of The Rite Aid Foundation and charitable giving initiatives. “Our new KidCents Regional Grant Program will help us make an even greater impact in the communities we serve by supporting the organizations that are changing the lives of our most vulnerable children and enabling them to achieve future success.”

For the inaugural grant cycle of the KidCents Regional Grant Program, projects may include out-of-school time programs with a goal of improving nutrition, physical fitness or academic success. Priority will be given to those programs that target communities in need.

Grants are available in select counties in the following states: California, Delaware, Maryland, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Washington. Charitable organizations that have been in existence for at least one year, have a service area in targeted Rite Aid communities and are in good financial standing are eligible.

Applications for the grants are available by invitation only. Interested charities must submit a Letter of Interest online at RiteAid.com/grants by June 22. Grants will be awarded in November 2018.
