SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Biocom, the association representing the California life science industry, today announced a call for entries for the third annual Life Science Catalyst Awards. In addition, Biocom announced that for the second year it will seek nominees from Los Angeles County. L.A. will have its own nominees, judges and Catalyst Award winners. The awards are designed to identify accomplished and up-and-coming academics, entrepreneurs, investors, corporate leaders and business advisers who are making their mark on the life science industry before reaching their 40th birthday.
"Our industry is growing at a rapid pace, and the Life Science Catalyst Awards are a chance to recognize these up-and-coming trailblazers who are leading this charge," noted Joe Panetta, president and CEO of Biocom. "San Diego and Los Angeles represent two hotbeds of innovation in the industry, and we welcome the opportunity to recognize professionals in these regions transforming life science as we know it."
Nominations for the award will be accepted until June 8, 2018. Honorees will be highlighted in the cover feature of the Biocom LifeLines magazine and celebrated at a VIP awards reception. In San Diego, the awards are being presented in conjunction with the San Diego Venture Group. The Life Science Catalyst Award will honor standouts from:
