Centrify Hires Industry Veteran Mike Mooney as Chief Revenue Officer

Former Chief Revenue Officer at Imperva Brings Depth of Experience in Leading and Building Enterprise Sales

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--()--Centrify, a leading provider of Zero Trust Security through the power of Next-Gen Access, today announced that it has appointed Mike Mooney as Chief Revenue Officer. Mooney will lead global sales and field service operations for the company, including enterprise sales, channel sales, inside sales, systems engineering, customer care and support, and professional services.

“Mike is a welcome addition to the leadership team at Centrify, as we usher in a new era of Zero Trust Security and Next-Gen Access,” said Tom Kemp, CEO at Centrify. “Mike has proven that he can scale an organization and successfully manage a complex product portfolio, and he’s an industry veteran who knows the cybersecurity space well.”

Mooney brings over 25 years of experience leading and building high performance enterprise sales operations to maximize revenue, growth and market penetration. He joins Centrify from Imperva, where he was also CRO responsible for worldwide, regional and channel sales, as well as inside sales, sales operations, business development, maintenance and renewal functions. In his three and a half years at Imperva, both the revenue and the value of the company doubled.

Prior to his leadership position at Imperva, Mooney held senior management positions at HP Autonomy, Autonomy, and Verity. He started his tenure at Autonomy as senior vice president of Americas field operations, a role he held from 2006 through 2012, a year after the HP acquisition. Most recently, Mooney was responsible for information analytics and big data revenue, as well as for OEM and federal revenue, across all Autonomy divisions. He joined HP Autonomy in 2005 as a result of its acquisition of Verity.

“I’m excited to join a company that is taking a unique Zero Trust Security approach to the market and delivering a complete platform that stops breaches in their tracks,” said Mooney. “I’m looking forward to building on Centrify’s strong, established market position in identity, access and privilege management. In particular, I want to challenge executives and technology leaders across all industries to rethink security with the understanding that identity is the primary attack vector.”

Mooney takes over the sales organization from Gary Taggart, senior vice president of worldwide sales, who is retiring after over 30 years of senior management and sales leadership in the cybersecurity industry. He will stay on with the company for a few months to ensure a smooth transition.

“I thank Gary for the leadership he has brought to the Centrify sales organization over the past seven years,” Kemp added. “Under his watch we have grown the business to more than $100 million in sales, and I wish him the very best in his well-deserved retirement.”

Centrify is a rapidly growing security vendor with more than 5,000 customers, including more than half of the Fortune 100. In FY17, the company focused on long-term growth and customer needs, with sixty percent of sales coming through the channel, and generated positive cash flow from operations. Centrify has a 95 percent plus customer retention rate, and is the only identity services provider to be recognized as a “Leader” by Forrester Research Inc., a leading industry analyst firm, in both the Identity-as-a-Service (IDaaS) and Privileged Identity Management (PIM) Wave evaluations, and as a “Strong Performer” for Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM).
