NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--PJ SOLOMON, an investment banking advisory firm, today announced the appointments of Brendan Matthews and Dante Caravaggio to the firm’s Energy Advisory Group. Mr. Matthews and Mr. Caravaggio join a growing team in Houston, Texas dedicated to providing strategic advisory services to clients across the energy chain.
Mr. Matthews, who will serve as a Director, joins the firm from Citigroup Global Markets, Inc., where he most recently was a Senior Vice President. His primary role and responsibilities include the coordination of the firm’s business development objectives and strategic marketing initiatives covering its energy clients. Mr. Matthews’ career has been dedicated to energy investment banking, with a primary focus on mergers, acquisitions and divestitures.
Mr. Caravaggio joins PJ SOLOMON from ConocoPhillips, where he worked as reservoir engineer in both exploration and asset planning roles. He has extensive subsurface modeling and analytical skills acquired through appraising unconventional acreage across the US.
“Our valued advisory capabilities and expertise are highly aligned with the needs of public and private companies across the energy sector,” said Marc Cooper, Chief Executive Officer of PJ SOLOMON. “Brendan and Dante are both key additions to our team and we look forward to continuing to build a strong presence in this important market.”
During his career, Mr. Matthews has participated in the execution of more than 60 upstream and midstream A&D transactions totaling $50 billion. His extensive transactional experience stretches across several conventional and unconventional regions throughout the U.S., with a recent successful track record in both the Permian Basin and Mid-Continent. Prior to his tenure at Citigroup, Mr. Matthews was a Vice President at RBC Richardson Barr, where he spent nearly seven years, after serving as an Analyst at Jefferies & Company.
At ConocoPhillips, Mr. Caravaggio regularly evaluated merits of unsolicited offers and acreage swaps with competitors, including spearheading subsurface and economic analyses for McKenzie and Dunn County. His numerical subsurface modeling background was used to help forecast production for new and existing development acreage. Prior to joining ConocoPhillips, Mr. Caravaggio was a reserves and simulation engineer at Encana.
“Enhancing our upstream technical capabilities continues to be a fundamental priority for us,” added George Ward, Head of PJ SOLOMON’s Energy Advisory Group. “We are thrilled to have Brendan and Dante join our team. Their experience, skills and deep sector knowledge will be invaluable to our client base.”
