IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Leaders from many of Orange County’s top real estate companies and financial institutions, in partnership with the Orange County Community Foundation, will come together on Thursday, April 19, in support of the county’s 130,000 veterans at the 3rd Annual Orange County Real Estate Luncheon. Organizers are expecting nearly 700 at the sold-out event being held at the Hotel Irvine. In the last two years, over $1.1 million in grants have been awarded to nonprofit organizations working closely together to serve the critical needs of Orange County veterans - - and this collaboration is working. “The ripple effect of the focused efforts you have made is having a massive, positive impact far beyond what I assume you folks perceived,” said Terence Nelson, VETS Program Coordinator and Veterans Counselor at Saddleback College, a 2016 and 2017 grant recipient. Saddleback College is one of several educational institutions that are providing scholarships and emergency grants to Orange County veterans through funds received from the OC Real Estate Luncheon.
This year’s luncheon will feature Co-Founder and CEO of Team Rubicon, Jake Wood. Since the organization’s founding in 2010 following the massive Haiti earthquake, Team Rubicon has responded to over 200 disasters and grown from eight to 75,000 veteran volunteer members.
