SPRINGFIELD, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Spok, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Spok Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: SPOK) and the global leader in healthcare communications, today announced that key executives will be participating in several upcoming events including the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE) annual meeting this week, the Healthcare IT Institute and AMDIS Physician-Computer Connect Symposium in June, and the AHA Leadership Summit in July.
“As the healthcare industry evolves, hospitals continue to face numerous communication challenges. We value the opportunity to meet face-to-face with industry leaders to discuss how technology supports their organizations and to gain input on how Spok can continue to evolve its communication platform,” said Hemant Goel, president of Spok, Inc.
At the Healthcare IT Institute event, June 3-5 in Tampa, Florida, Goel will present a session titled “Changing the Face of Healthcare: The Evolution of Hospital Systems and Rise of Enterprise Communications.” In that session, he will explore how hospital systems have evolved since the 1990’s and why it is important to shift from siloed, disparate communication systems, to an integrated, enterprise-wide communication system for faster care team collaboration. Goel and other members of the Spok leadership team will also meet one-on-one with health system CIOs to discuss communication challenges they are undertaking in their organizations.
During AONE, April 12-15 in Indianapolis, Indiana, Spok chief nursing officer Dr. Nat’e Guyton will host a focus group with nursing leadership to discuss their role in driving clinical innovation, specifically related to building mobile strategies. The group will also discuss optimal device mix (smartphones, pagers, Wi-Fi phones, etc.) and the expectations for mobile device use at the patient bedside. Dr. Guyton will also present at AONE’s Education Expo Pavilion, sharing with attendees the seven must-have components of a mobile strategy and tips to help bring these components back to their organizations.
Dr. Guyton will present at the AHA Leadership Summit held July 26-28 in San Diego, California. There she will address the challenges of coordinating and managing care and the patient experience. She will discuss how clinical communication solutions can improve the quality of patient care, increase clinician productivity, and improve patient and provider satisfaction.
At the AMDIS PCC Symposium June 18-22 in Ojai, California, Spok vice president of product strategy Brian Edds will facilitate a focus group discussion about ways healthcare leaders are complementing the EHR with communication technology. Specifically, the group will review the opportunities and challenges of integrating with existing systems in a hospital to deliver information quickly and securely.
At all four events, Spok representatives will focus on how an enterprise communication platform, such as Spok Care Connect®, can solve many of the communication challenges hospitals face today. For more information on Spok Care Connect, visit our website.
