The new release includes geo-partitioning features that keep data close to the customer, performance benchmarks that prove it scales easily to handle 10X the maximum throughput achieved by competitor Amazon Aurora, and support for JSON. - In a head-to-head test using the industry standard performance benchmark TPC-C, CockroachDB 2.0 scaled to 10x the maximum throughput achieved by Amazon Aurora.
- CockroachDB. 2.0 processes 62% more transactions per second than version 1.1 released in October 2017. Additionally, 2.0 improved response time by 544% from version 1.1.
- Read / write performance of CockroachDB 2.0 scales linearly, allowing it to grow far beyond any monolithic system like those offered by Oracle, Postgres, or MySQL.
