MEMPHIS, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Fans from around the world will gather at Graceland® in Memphis to celebrate and honor the life of Elvis Presley™ during Elvis Week™ 2018 – which will be the biggest Elvis Week in history. Unprecedented concerts, special performances and guest appearances will take place from August 9 through 18 at Graceland’s new entertainment complex, Elvis Presley’s Memphis™.
Among the very special guests will be Lisa Marie Presley, who will appear on stage at the Graceland Soundstage on August 15; Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Legend and Elvis’ ’68 Comeback Special performer Darlene Love live in concert, making her first-ever Elvis Week appearance; Gospel and Soul legend and former Elvis back-up singer Dr. Emily “Cissy” Houston, also making her first Elvis Week appearance; Elvis’ acclaimed drummer from the TCB Band, Ronnie Tutt; and many more.
Highlights of the week’s events include a special tribute to the 50th Anniversary of the legendary ’68 Comeback Special, a concert and conversation honoring Elvis’ gospel recordings, a live concert performance with Elvis on the big screen, a special Lisa Marie Presley autograph opportunity for exclusive ticket package holders, and of course the Candlelight Vigil, held on the evening of August 15. Fans will enjoy stories from people who knew and/or worked with Elvis, bid on auction items, and celebrate with special events throughout the week hosted at Elvis Presley’s Graceland complex, which includes the AAA Four-Diamond Guest House at Graceland™ resort hotel and the multi-million dollar entertainment and exhibit complex, Elvis Presley’s Memphis.
Tickets for all Elvis Week events go on-sale beginning Friday, March 30 at Noon Central time. Most events will take place at the Graceland Soundstage, a state-of-the-art production and performance space in the heart of Graceland’s new entertainment and exhibit complex, Elvis Presley’s Memphis, directly across the street from Graceland Mansion.
The cornerstone event, the Candlelight Vigil, will begin on Wednesday, August 15, at 8:30 p.m. Central Time at Graceland’s front gate. Elvis music sets the tone of the evening as fans walk up the driveway to the Meditation Garden. This event lasts throughout the night as thousands of participants gather on Elvis Presley Boulevard listening to music, remembering Elvis and enjoying the memorials that are created by fans along the street.

feature special programming that celebrates both Elvis and his dedicated
fan clubs. Special guest speakers will be Rex and Elisabeth Mansfield.
Rex served in the Army with Elvis and became a close friend. Elisabeth
became romantically involved with Elvis but was torn between her love
for Elvis and her love for Rex – and she eventually chose Rex and they
married in 1960.

Conversations on Elvis: Gospel

Hosted by Andy Childs,
this event features those who spent many hours performing gospel music
alongside Elvis, both on and off stage, plus a very special guest
appearance by Lisa Marie Presley, who will share her thoughts
about her dad’s love of gospel. Other confirmed guests include: Dr.
Emily “Cissy” Houston, who was a member of The Sweet Inspirations,
making her first appearance at Elvis Week; former members of The
Stamps Quartet; and Armond Morales, who performed with Elvis
as part of The Imperials.

This concert the afternoon before the
Candlelight Vigil will celebrate both Elvis’ music, and the music that
influenced him. Starring Rockabilly and Outlaw Country artist Dale

After
an opening ceremony at the Gates of Graceland, fans are invited to walk
up the driveway to Elvis' gravesite and back down carrying a candle in
quiet remembrance. Gates remain open until all who wish to participate
in the procession have done so, which typically takes until the early
morning hours of August 16, the anniversary of Elvis' passing.

Conversations on Elvis: ’68 Special

Soundstage, Elvis Presley’s Memphis.
This event will celebrate
the 50th anniversary of Elvis’ groundbreaking television
special “Elvis” – or known to many fans as the “’68 Comeback Special.”
Hosted by Tom Brown, special guests will include Tanya Lemani George,
the belly dancer who performed during “Little Egypt” and more guests to
be announced soon.

Elvis’ groundbreaking NBC television special that aired in December
1968, “Elvis.” The show will feature an enhanced screening of what has

Brown, the event will feature those who had a connection with Elvis
both personal to professional. Special guests this year include: Ann
Moses, who was editor at “Tiger Beat Magazine” from 1965 – 1972 and
sat on the stage for Elvis’ “’68 Comeback Special,” toured Elvis’ and
Colonel Parker’s offices, observed filming for “Change of Habit” and
attended Elvis’ opening show in July 1969 in Vegas; Billy Blackwood,
James Blackwood’s younger son, who toured with Voice, the opening act
for the Elvis Presley in the 1970s; Donna Rhodes Morris, who was
called to American Sound Studios by Chips Moman to sing harmony on the
original Elvis recordings of Elvis’ “In The Ghetto,” “Kentucky Rain” and
“Suspicious Minds”; and more guests to be announced.

Enjoy a classic Memphis breakfast buffet at
The Guest House while enjoying special Elvis programming. Hosted by Tom
Brown, our special guest for this event will be TCB band member Ronnie
Tutt, who played drums for Elvis both on-stage and in the studio
from 1969 to 1977. Ronnie will share some of his favorite stories and
memories of working with Elvis.
Elvis Live in Concert - with an All-Star Band

Graceland Soundstage, Elvis Presley’s Memphis.
Celebrate the
King of Rock 'n' Roll's greatest hits with Elvis live in concert and on
the big screen, in the tradition of Elvis’ legendary, live concert
tours. A live, rock ‘n’ roll all-star band will accompany Elvis and
bring this stage production to life at Graceland with former members of The
Stamps Quartet and a very special guest appearance by TCB band
member Ronnie Tutt. A not-to-be-missed concert event.
