KNOXVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--EnerNex, a leading electric power research, engineering and consulting firm, today announced its participation in the IEEE PES T&D Conference and Exposition, one of the leading transmission and distribution trade shows in North America, taking place April 16-19, 2018 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver.
“An energy transition is underway across the country, and T&D innovations are leading the industry towards the next generation of energy solutions,” said Jeff Lamoree, Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of EnerNex. “Our attendance at IEEE PES T&D underscores our commitment to engineering design and study of renewable and distributed resource integration into T&D systems.”
EnerNex’s team (#TEAMENERNEX) of top professionals are attending the conference, including Jeff Lamoree, Bob Zavadil, EVP, co-founder, Ron Chebra, VP of Grid Modernization and Jeremy Laundergan, Vice President of Consulting Services.
Exhibiting this year at booth #2835, EnerNex will present its transmission and distribution expertise on matters related to the integration, penetration and delivery of renewable energy resources, including areas such as modeling, infrastructure assessments and analytical case studies. EnerNex brings these strengths to utilities who are tackling issues such as aging infrastructure, regulatory changes and an ever-expanding array of distributed energy resources -- items that are the catalyst for propelling significant grid modernization efforts around the country.
TEAMENERNEX participation includes:
Jeremy Laundergan joins a panel session on the Provision of Grid Services from Demand Response (DR) Resources on April 17 at 10 am – 12 pm. This panel covers the factors changing utility operational and business models emerging for new grid services at bulk power and distribution levels, as well as cost-effective provisions of these services from DR resources.
Dave Mueller, Muhammad Humayun, and Jens Schoene present a Case Study of the Lightning Performance of a 230 kV Transmission Line on April 18 at 3:15 – 5:15 pm. The presentation is about the statistical lightning performance study conducted for a North American 230 kV transmission line in order to investigate a shielding failure flashover that caused equipment damages.
Jens Schoene and Muhammad Humayun present on the Evaluation of the Effectiveness and Robustness of Residential-Scale Smart Photovoltaics on April 18 at 5:00 – 7:00 pm. This poster presentation is about the investigation of undesirable impacts of voltage control actions from autonomously acting residential Photovoltaic generators (PVs) in response to overvoltage conditions.
EnerNex representatives will be available at the booth for additional inquiries and in-booth presentations throughout the event. An appointment can be made in advance by calling 865-218-4600 or visiting our website. As a contributor to the book Smart Grids: Advanced Technologies and Solutions, Second Edition, EnerNex will be offering a raffle for complimentary copies at the booth.
