HORSHAM, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--NMS Labs, a leader in providing clinical and forensic laboratory services, will announce expansion plans at a ceremony in Horsham today. Hosting local leaders in business and law enforcement, the company will break ground on a new facility at 200 Welsh Road in Horsham that will serve as its future headquarters.

NMS Labs works with 2,000 state, county and city law enforcement and medical examiners in the U.S. and Canada. More than half of all postmortem toxicology tests in the United States are performed by NMS Labs. The company’s capabilities allow it to rapidly develop new tests to detect emerging designer opioids to provide authorities with actionable intelligence to better address problems related to illicit substance abuse in their communities.
The new Horsham facility will be nearly 30 percent larger than the current NMS Headquarters in Willow Grove, and will maximize the available space while utilizing new technology. When at full capacity, the company estimates that the expansion and resulting efficiencies could increase their testing volumes by more than 20 percent.
Currently, NMS Labs employs more than 270 people in Montgomery Country as part of its toxicological, client support and administrative operations, and nearly all will relocate to the nearby Horsham facility when it opens later this year. The Willow Grove facility will remain open as the new home for NMS Labs’ criminalistics operations.
