NEWTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Your Call Football (YCF), the gaming technology startup behind the innovative, fan-controlled, live play-calling game that will launch with three games in May 2018, today announced that it has been granted two additional patents from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), strengthening the company’s position as an innovator in the sports gaming industry with a total of three patents.
Designated 9,821,211 and 9,878,250, the patents cover the engine that will power the YCF experience, including the method of receiving a set of plays from a coach, voting on plays, determination of a winning play and the implementation–in a real football game–of a play that’s identical to the one chosen virtually. They also cover the mechanism of assigning positive and negative points to players in real time based upon the chosen play and the outcome of that same play on the field, and the scoring system that allows fans to compete against each other based upon those accumulated points.

These patents follow the September issuance of patent No. 9,751,018, as well as the hiring of head coaches Mike Sherman, the former Green Bay Packers head coach and general manager, and Merril Hoge, the former NFL running back and ESPN football analyst. YCF’s first games will take place on three Thursday nights in May (3, 10, 17) with Phenix delivering near-zero latency streaming online and in the app.
YCF is completely changing how fans enjoy football by making it completely immersive. Fans who download the YCF app will be able to control the action on the field by voting on three coach-selected plays, then watching as the majority voted play is executed live on the field by YCF professional players. Fans accumulate points based on their play-calling skills and compete with other fans for YCF cash prizes.
Developed by Cantina, a strategic design and technology agency, the YCF app operates in conjunction with YCF’s patented fan play calling system. It will be available for download on iOS and Android devices next month.
