LOUISVILLE, Ky.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Hilliard Lyons announces that John L. Schutz, CWA®, a Wealth Advisor in its Evansville complex, has been named to the Financial Times “400 Top Financial Advisers” for 2018.
This designation puts Schutz among elite advisors at national, independent, regional, and bank advisors across the United States. The average FT 400 advisor has 28 years’ experience and manages $1.4 billion in assets. This is the sixth year that the Financial Times has compiled this list and the first time Schutz has been named.
Schutz, a Senior Vice President, has been a Wealth Advisor in Hilliard Lyons’ Evansville complex for his entire professional career, starting in 1986. For many years, he has also taught courses as a volunteer, helping hundreds of people better understand both how to plan for a secure retirement and how to elect their Social Security benefit options optimally.
In addition to earning a degree in business administration from the University of Southern Indiana (USI), John has earned the Hilliard Lyons Chartered Wealth Advisor® designation and completed a program at the Wharton School of Business’ Securities Industry Institute.
John maintains his connections with the community through the Historic New Harmony Society (in New Harmony, Indiana), USI’s Varsity Club, and USI’s Foundation Board.
ABOUT THE RANKINGS: To be considered, nominees needed at least 10 years of experience and $300 million in assets under management in the largest U.S. broker-dealers. Qualified advisors were scored on assets under management (AUM), AUM growth rate, years of experience, advanced industry credentials, online accessibility, and compliance records. The award does not evaluate the quality of services provided to clients and is not indicative of an advisor’s future performance. Neither advisors nor their firms pay a fee to the Financial Times in exchange for inclusion in the FT 400.
