Valley Presbyterian Hospital Welcomes New Chief Medical Officer

VAN NUYS, Calif.--()--Valley Presbyterian Hospital welcomes Clyde Wesp, MD, as its new Chief Medical Officer.

Dr. Wesp brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in improving the quality and safety of patient care through clinical decision support, evidence-based medicine, and the transformation of operational processes. Dr. Wesp is a Board Certified Pediatrician and draws from a broad range of experience, from practicing primary care pediatrics to holding roles as Medical Director of Best Practice, Chief Medical Information Officer, Chief Medical Officer, and Clinical Strategist in multiple organizations. In addition, Dr. Wesp is currently a USC Adjunct Professor at the Sol Price School of Public Policy.

In his role as Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Wesp will focus on the clinical care that VPH delivers to the community with an emphasis on quality and efficiency, as well as the patient and clinician experience.

Dr. Wesp graduated from Rutgers University- NJ Medical School, completed residency at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, holds a Master’s degree in Organizational Management, and is a lifetime member of the American Association for Physician Leadership (formerly American College of Physician Executives). As an educator, Dr. Wesp has worked in both academic and clinical settings, designing and delivering education and training programs aimed at accomplishing best practice clinical informatics models throughout healthcare organizations.
