NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Rockefeller Capital Management, an independent financial services firm, today announced that Michael Brakey and Grace Yoon will join the firm. The new hires are the latest in a series of experienced industry leaders who have joined Rockefeller since its launch this month, as the firm begins to add to its wealth and asset management capabilities and build a strategic advisory business. Rockefeller serves ultra- and high-net-worth families, institutional investors and corporations.

At Rockefeller, Brakey will be Head of Credit and Banking in the Wealth Management business, developing client deposit and credit solutions, including asset-based lending, in support of broad client strategic and liquidity needs. Yoon will be the Chief Operating Officer of Strategic Advisory as well as Head of Strategic Initiatives for the firm overall. Yoon will join the Executive Committee, and Brakey will join the firm’s Operating Committee.
The addition of Brakey and Yoon follows the hiring of Jonathan Eisenberg, General Counsel; Ed Moriarty, Chief Financial Officer; Christopher Randazzo, Head of Wealth Management and Head of Technology & Operations; Jeffrey Shames, Senior Strategy Adviser; and Harry Singh, Chief Operating Officer. John J. Brennan, former Chairman and CEO of Vanguard, has joined the Rockefeller Board of Directors. Rockefeller expects to add more professionals and independent board directors.

Michael Brakey, Head of Credit and Banking
Michael Brakey was previously a managing director and head of high-net-worth lending at Morgan Stanley, which he joined in 2011 to help accelerate the firm’s banking growth strategy. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Brakey spent almost 18 years at Merrill Lynch, later Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he finished as a managing director and head of global wealth credit strategy and investment lending. Before that, Brakey headed the consumer lending as well as the global securities-based loan business. Brakey received his MBA from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
Grace Yoon, COO of Strategic Advisory
Grace Yoon was most recently a senior executive in financial services advisory at Ernst & Young, advising financial institutions in areas of transformation, innovation and strategy. Previously, Yoon was a managing director at Morgan Stanley, responsible for driving wealth and asset management growth for investment banking clients. Before that, Yoon spent a number of years at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in investment banking, equity capital markets, and investor relations, including for Merrill Lynch during the financial crisis. She has an MBA from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University and a bachelor’s degree from Brown University.
