ExxonMobil announces sweepstakes for all-expense paid trips to the 2018 NBA Finals

HOUSTON--()--ExxonMobil today announced new, multi-year marketing partnerships with the Boston Celtics, Charlotte Hornets, and Houston Rockets. The team deals extend ExxonMobil’s status as the “Official Motor Fuel of the National Basketball Association (NBA)” in key markets.

To tip off the team partnerships, ExxonMobil is conducting a sweepstakes for the 2018 NBA Finals. Five lucky winners will win tickets to the biggest event of the basketball season, where they and a guest will enjoy an all-expense paid trip to the finals, with premium seats for one of the first two games in the series. Sweepstakes entries run through April 30, 2018. Details can be found at www.exxon.com/NBAFinals.

“We are excited to partner with three outstanding NBA franchises and to announce the launch of our 2018 NBA Finals sweepstakes,” said Eric Carmichael, Americas Fuels Marketing Manager, for ExxonMobil Fuels & Lubricants. “Like the performance the Boston Celtics, Charlotte Hornets and Houston Rockets deliver every game, our products are meticulously engineered with ingredients that work together and draw many parallels to the teams' synergy on the court.”

To promote the sweepstakes and excite fans, ExxonMobil will host an official 180-degree photo experience event March 6, 2018 at the Charlotte Hornets’ Spectrum Center, and March 20, 2018 at the Boston Celtics’ TD Garden. During the events, fans will have the opportunity to perform an alley-oop, driving to the basket and scoring in their own unique style. A 180-degree camera will capture this performance and participants will receive their image via email. Fans will also have the ability to enter the 2018 NBA Finals sweepstakes at these events.

The new partnerships include the following designations:

  • With the Boston Celtics, ExxonMobil becomes the “Official Motor Fuel Partner of the Boston Celtics.”

The Celtics have long stood for equality, and respect, including hiring the first African American Coach and starting the first all black starting five. In addition, 39 former Celtics players, management or staff have been inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. In December 2002 the team returned to local ownership for the first time since 1963. For more information on the Celtics, visit www.celtics.com.

About the Houston Rockets:

On Oct. 6, 2017, Tilman J. Fertitta assumed ownership of Clutch City Sports & Entertainment, which encompasses the National Basketball Association’s Houston Rockets, the Toyota Center venue in Houston, and the recently established Clutch Gaming esports division. The Rockets, which are in their 51st season as an NBA franchise, moved from San Diego to Houston in 1971. Houston won back-to-back championships in 1993-94 and 1994-95, and is one of six NBA franchises to have accomplished that feat. Dating back to 1984-85, the Rockets have posted the most seasons with a .500 or better record of any team in the NBA. Through the Clutch City Foundation, which was established in 1995, the Rockets strive to provide hope, help, and inspiration for those who might otherwise be forgotten.
