LINCOLN, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Athena Capital Advisors, a privately owned, independent registered investment advisor with $5.5 billion in assets under management, has expanded its national presence to include a new office in California.
Located in San Francisco’s historic Ferry Building, the office serves the firm’s existing West Coast clients and deepens relationships with the extensive network of Bay Area investment managers used in client portfolios. The office is led by William McCalpin, Managing Partner, Impact Investments.
Athena Capital was established in San Francisco in 1993 and later relocated its headquarters to Lincoln, Massachusetts. The firm also has an office in New York City.

William McCalpin leads Athena Capital’s impact investing practice, which works with clients to align their investments with their values or mission objectives. Prior to joining Athena Capital, McCalpin was Chief Executive Officer of Imprint Capital Advisors, a registered investment advisor that managed customized impact investment portfolios for individual and institutional clients. Earlier in his career, McCalpin was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Rockefeller Brothers Fund and, during the 1990s, directed one of the first mission-related investment programs in the foundation community at the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation.
