SOMERSET, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today Oticon introduced the ConnectClip, a discreet, lightweight intermediary device that extends the convenience and performance of its Internet-connected Opn™ hearing aids. Once synced with Opn hearing aids, ConnectClip transforms the instruments into a wireless headset for hands-free phone calls from any Apple® or Android™ smartphone, extending the benefits of Opn’s wireless connectivity to even more hearing aid wearers. ConnectClip also serves as a remote microphone that captures the wearer’s voice to facilitate hands-free phone calls, and improves the ability of Opn wearers to hear and participate in lecture halls, classrooms, and other noisy environments.
Hearing aid wearers typically can’t use traditional wireless headsets, making it difficult to drive, cook meals, or get work done while on the phone. ConnectClip makes hands-free phone calls not only possible, but seamless. It uses Bluetooth® to wirelessly stream sound from the phone to Opn hearing aids, and its built-in directional microphones transmit the wearer’s voice, eliminating the need to hold your phone to make a call.
Wirelessly stream a speaker’s voice from a distance
The directional microphone and Oticon’s advanced, rapid noise reduction technology make ConnectClip an effective solution to help wearers manage distant speakers in noisy and complex listening situations. ConnectClip can be worn by a speaker up to 65 feet away, and streams their voice directly to the hearing aids so the user can focus on and better understand a speaker while staying attentive to their surroundings.

Buttons on the ConnectClip make it even more convenient for wearers to adjust the volume, change programs, or mute their hearing aids.
