SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, Age Wave, the national leader in understanding the effects of population aging and increasing longevity on the marketplace, the workplace, and our lives, announced the promotion of Erin McInrue Savage to Senior Vice President. Ms. McInrue Savage will lead Age Wave’s pioneering research efforts both in the US and abroad.
Erin joined Age Wave five years ago as a Research Associate and flourished in her vital role leading acclaimed studies on a wide variety of subjects pertaining to aging, longevity, and retirement – from housing, healthcare and technology to leisure travel, volunteerism and financial planning. She quickly rose in the ranks to Vice President, demonstrating her unique combination of visionary scope and analytical skills to extract compelling, data-driven findings.
Innovative insights from her work have been featured in leading print and electronic media, including the New York Times, the Washington Post, Fortune, PBS Next Avenue, USA Today, WSJ and AARP magazine, and have garnered more than ten billion media impressions over the past several years.
“I look forward to this exciting opportunity before me at Age Wave and to the broader opportunities we all face together in this era of unprecedented population aging. I’m eager to change the public narrative pertaining to every aspect of how we view the second half of life and inspire others to devise novel solutions that bring generations together to improve the experience of aging,” says Erin.
“As Age Wave advances into its fourth decade of business, we are more than ever committed to envisioning a new purpose for later life and liberating the consumer marketplace from its ageist, youth-obsessed orientation. We are passionate about our projects working to avert a new era of mass elder poverty, preparing our healthcare system for the chronic health challenges of tens of millions of older adults and their caregiving families, and turbo-charging the frontiers of global science to beat Alzheimer’s before it beats us. Erin’s experience and leadership will guide the development of all of our research to better prepare consumers, businesses, governments, non-profits, and the media for a rapidly changing aging population,” says Age Wave’s Founder/CEO, Ken Dychtwald.
With a MPH degree from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health specializing in Gerontology and Epidemiology, Erin previously held research positions related to aging, health, and sleep during her time at Brown University, Johns Hopkins, and the University of California, San Francisco. She is Vice President of the Board for At Home With Growing Older, a Bay Area nonprofit. She also serves on the Technical Expert Panel on the Program for All Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Erin grew up near Napanee, Canada, and outside of work she is an avid athlete.
