MARTINSBURG, W. Va.--()--1Vision LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of HMS TECHNOLOGIES, INC., announced that it has been selected as the only Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) to be awarded a contract from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to deliver home telehealth solutions to U.S. veterans. The contract includes one base year and four one-year option periods with a maximum value of $258,668,957.

1Vision chose AMC Health, a leading provider of virtual care and remote patient monitoring solutions to implement its home telehealth solution leveraging the robust clinical CareConsole® platform. AMC Health’s telehealth offerings will enable veterans to automatically transmit information including vital sign measurements such as weight, blood pressure, blood glucose levels as well as condition specific information to the CareConsole® platform using Bluetooth-enabled devices from the comfort of their own homes. CareConsole is powered by a sophisticated analytics engine that alerts a veterans’ Care Coordinator to emerging health issues or concerning trends ensuring prioritized outreach before small clinical issues become serious problems. Using telehealth, veterans will have the opportunity to bolster their independence, get convenient access to health care while addressing resource and financial obstacles.

“1Vision, a subsidiary of HMS TECHNOLOGIES, INC., was formed with the sole vision of better serving our nation’s Veterans through a wider breadth of technologies,” said Bill Kirkpatrick, CEO of HMS TECHNOLOGIES, INC. and managing director of 1Vision, LLC. “As a service-disabled veteran myself, I firmly believe this contract is a vital step to make healthcare treatment for our nation's heroes more efficient and accessible. We are honored to be part of this contract and are pleased that the VA has awarded a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business this opportunity to help provide quality products and services to veterans.”

The Veterans Health Administration’s (VHA) Home Telehealth Program relies on telehealth platforms from commercial contractors classified by the VA as Medical Device Data Systems (MDDS). These systems are purchased by the VHA and used by veterans throughout the United States in their homes as a means of promoting self-management and increased access to care. VA-published studies show that MDDS systems help to improve care, reduce emergency department visits and promote higher levels of patient and clinician satisfaction.

AMC Health’s solutions (the telehealth platform for 1Vision) are developed for clinicians by clinicians using processes, protocols and technologies culled from more than 15 years of operation.

“We are honored that AMC Health has been selected to help empower veterans to take a more active role managing their health and improving the quality of lives,” said Nesim Bildirici, CEO and president of AMC Health. “As the exclusive telehealth provider for 1Vision, we are committed to extending our expertise to help expand medical services to veterans through telehealth.”
