CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mass Innovation Labs, the world’s leading accelerated commercialization program for the biopharmaceutical industry, today announced a major expansion into the hardware and technology sector at Boston Landing. Mass Innovation Labs will occupy 84,000 square feet of the 15-acre mixed-use development that is home to New Balance Athletics, Inc., among other world-class companies and organizations beginning in June of 2018.
The new facility will be aimed at meeting the needs of cutting-edge biotech and technology companies looking for space and operating programs that can be customized to suit their needs. Mass Innovation Labs’ groundbreaking program in Kendall Square, which opened its doors in 2015, has been providing emerging biopharmaceutical companies such as CRISPR Therapeutics and Editas Medicine with turnkey laboratory and office space and operational support that has companies up and running in a matter of weeks. The same proven and successful approach will be applied to the Boston Landing space to cater to the needs of technology companies looking for a place to grow.
“We are thrilled to extend our expertise to the technology industry, and the Boston Landing location is an ideal synergy of companies that create breakthrough products, services and technologies,” said Amrit Chaudhuri, CEO and co-founder of Mass Innovation Labs. “Through our Cambridge location, we have demonstrated that we know how to provide the right support for businesses to help them achieve success quickly. We’re excited to bring our proven model to the Boston Landing ecosystem to support technology companies as they design and develop tomorrow’s new solutions.”
”We are excited to be welcoming Mass Innovation Labs to the Boston Landing campus,” said Jim Halliday, Managing Director for New Balance Development Group, the project developer. “The addition of Mass Innovation Labs to provide an environment for technology companies to thrive in order to perform research and develop their technology advancements is at the heart of the innovational and entrepreneurial spirit of Boston Landing, its project sponsor, New Balance, and the other likeminded tenants calling Boston Landing home.”
Boston Landing, located in Boston’s Allston-Brighton neighborhood, is a mixed use development that includes office buildings, retail and restaurant space, a hotel and sports complex.
