KISSIMMEE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Youth soccer fans, mark your calendars! From December 18 – 22 you’ll be able to watch the world’s best players and U12 soccer teams competing in the inaugural Prospects Cup, a first if its kind international youth tournament. The games will be available LIVE on TV, online and mobile.
UCI Live, the in-house experiential marketing unit of Univision Communications Inc. (UCI), which is producing Prospects Cup, today announced that the tournament will be broadcast LIVE in the United States in Spanish on UDN (Univision Deportes Network), the No. 1 Spanish-language cable sports network, and in English via global sports provider Eleven Sports. Coverage of the tournament on UDN will start each day with “Fútbol Central,” Univision Deportes’ award winning soccer pre-gram show. Additionally, “Contacto Deportivo,” the sports news program that airs nightly on Univision and UDN, will showcase feature stories about the tournament, teams and players. Fans in the U.S. will also be able to watch the action in Spanish on UnivisionDeportes.com and the Univision Deportes app (available for iOS and/or Android).
The 16 national and international teams of boys under age 12 will take the pitch this December, at the world-class ChampionsGate Sports Field Complex at the Omni Orlando Resort in Kissimmee, FL. The U.S. contenders are: FC Dallas (Frisco, TX), Global Premier Soccer (Boston, MA), LA Galaxy (Los Angeles, CA), Orlando City SC (Orlando, FL), Real Jersey FC (Medford, NJ), Sockers FC (Chicago, IL), Tuzos Soccer Club (Phoenix, AZ) and Weston Soccer Club (Miami, FL). The international teams are: AS Roma (Italy), Boca Juniors (Argentina), Borussia Dortmund (Germany), Chivas (Mexico), Club América (Mexico), Fluminense FC (Brazil), Manchester City (England) and Real Madrid (Spain).
In partnership with Sportsrocket, Prospects Cup will provide an immersive 360-degree online experience to fans and family members watching from home worldwide. Matches, highlights and exclusive coverage will be available globally in English and Spanish on the ProspectsCup.com and the Prospects Cup Facebook page.
Matches will be also available to watch via the Hangtime app through which fans can watch matches in private "hangs" with other fans from around the world. To keep viewers engaged during halftime, Hangtime powers a game on soccer trivia with the chance to win $1,000. Fans can download Hangtime from http://go.hangtime.co/prospectscup/
