NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--InVision, the digital product design platform powering the world’s best user experiences, announced today that it has raised $100 million in Series E funding. Battery Ventures led the round, joined by existing investors Accel, Tiger Global Management, FirstMark and ICONIQ Capital, along with new investors Spark Capital and Geodesic. This investment brings the company’s total funding to $235 million.
InVision was founded in 2011 with an ambitious goal: to help improve every digital experience in the world. Since then, the company has evolved from a prototyping tool for design teams into a complete platform for organizations to drive their digital product design process from start to finish. InVision powers the product design process for more than 3 million people at tens of thousands of companies, including eighty percent of the Fortune 100 and brands like Airbnb, Amazon, HBO, Netflix, Nike, Slack, Starbucks and Uber. This has given InVision unprecedented access to many of the best product teams in the world, which has inspired its technology and its efforts to spread best practices across the industry.
“Over the last several years, the power of digital product design to impact every area of business has become increasingly clear, and so it has become a strategic and cross-functional concern across every organization,” said InVision CEO and Co-Founder Clark Valberg. “At InVision, we see evidence of this in the fact that three-quarters of our users sit outside the design team, and our customers span every imaginable industry. Our commitment is to helping every organization learn from the world’s best digital product teams, to help them put design and an emphasis on the user at the center of their business strategy, and ultimately, to build experiences that customers love.”
InVision will use this financing to continue to evolve its technology, hire across every team, and invest in its design education efforts -- which span content, workshops, and best practices -- to help companies leverage the power of design and drive business objectives. The company recently announced two new products which further its goal of becoming the platform for creating the world’s best user experiences. The first, InVision Studio, is the world’s most powerful screen design tool, and the second, Design System Manager, is the definitive tool to help every product team to create their own design system and innovate at scale. Along with InVision’s existing tools, they form the essential operating system for creating better products, faster.
“In today’s business landscape, the importance of designing and delivering amazing customer experiences cannot be overstated,” said Battery Ventures General Partner Neeraj Agrawal. “InVision is defining this category from both a technology and a thought leadership perspective. As every company expands its digital presence, InVision has become the backbone of some of the world’s best digital experiences and is now the essential platform for every organization that wants to harness design as a differentiator and compete in the modern business era.”
InVision made seven acquisitions in 2016 and 2017, welcoming Macaw, Waybury, Easee, Napkin, Silver Flows, TrackDuck, and Brand.ai to the team. The company also grew its employee base significantly over the last few years, from just over 50 in 2015 to nearly 450 today. As a fully distributed company, InVision gives employees the flexibility to work from anywhere, and employs people in 24 countries around the world.
