CCPOA Pumps $5 Million into its Political Operation, with Millions More to Come

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif.--()--The California Correctional Peace Officers Association (CCPOA) today began shifting $5 million into its political action efforts in preparation for the 2018 elections, bringing its current political operations budget to approximately $15 million, with another approximate $3 to 6 million likely in the Spring.

“We take our role in the political process very seriously, as should every Californian,” said CCPOA President Chuck Alexander. “We have a responsibility to ensure that the voices of our members working in the correctional profession are heard in the political process. We take this responsibility very seriously.”

In addition to the governor's race, Californians will decide a number of key legislative contests and a variety of ballot initiatives in the 2018 election cycle.
