NEW YORK & LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--OpenFin, the operating system for financial desktops, today announced that Adam Toms has joined the company as Chief Executive Officer Europe. Adam brings more than 20 years of financial markets experience to this new role. He is currently a board member of RSRCHXchange, which, in the space of 3 years, is recognized as a leading marketplace for financial research. Prior to RSRCHXchange, Adam served for 4 years as CEO of Instinet Europe and was responsible for managing Instinet's brokerage operations and business strategy in the EMEA region. Under his leadership, Instinet achieved record market share and profitability.
In his new role as OpenFin CEO Europe, Adam will be focused on driving industry-wide adoption of OpenFin’s vendor-neutral platform, which enables rapid, secure innovation for all market participants.
“OpenFin is one of the biggest, and most necessary, innovations in financial desktops over the past 20 years,” said Mr. Toms. “OpenFin has widespread backing from most major banks and industry heavyweights who recognize OpenFin’s operating system as the backbone on which we can build the future of finance. This is the point where we need to scale and drive this fundamental change across the industry in a collaborative manner.”
OpenFin technology powers applications licensed across more than 125,000 desktops and deployed to over 400 major banks and buy-side firms. Using a modern, open technology stack, OpenFin OS is dedicated to addressing the specific needs of these customers, enabling rapid deployment and interoperability, while simultaneously improving security.
“While we were born on Wall Street, the reality is that we are solving problems across capital markets globally, and see just as much, if not more, demand for OpenFin in Europe,” said Mazy Dar, CEO and co-founder of OpenFin. “With Adam’s track record at Instinet and the stellar reputation he has earned in our industry, his arrival is a significant signal to the market place that OpenFin OS will be the solution that unifies global capital markets in a single, secure, and interconnected ecosystem.”
