TeenBusiness Announces the Top Teen Entrepreneurs of 2017

WEST ORANGE, N.J.--()--TeenBusiness Media announces the TeenBusiness Top Twenty 2017 to highlight teen entrepreneurs and creative thinkers of 2017.

Teens are starting high-tech, low-tech, green, charitable, and science-based enterprises in the US and around the world in far greater numbers than ever before. These young entrepreneurs are motivated by the desire to: 1) explore their interests, 2) make a difference in other people’s lives, and 3) make money.

TeenBusiness Top Twenty 2017 showcases an exciting field of young entrepreneurs and innovators, including:

  • Jack Griffin, 19 (USA) – started a not-for-profit company called FoodFinders to help hungry kids find the nearest food resources.
  • Dylan Siow-Lee and Other Teens (AUSTRALIA) – derived a compound to dramatically reduce the cost of a critical drug from $750 per dose to just $2 per dose.
  • Riya Karumanchi, 14 (USA) – created a “smart cane” for the blind that vibrates to alert users about objects in front of them.
  • Julian Rios Cantu, 18 (MEXICO) – motivated by his mother who died of breast cancer, he designed a breast cancer detection bra.
  • Rifath Sharook, 18 (INDIA) – developed the world’s smallest satellite launched by NASA.
  • Annalisa Urena, 12 (USA) – created the Creative Minds app to help autistic kids constructively express their emotions.

“This year’s crop of teen entrepreneurs is a diverse group from around the world who are often motivated to solve social and health problems faced by their families and communities,” says Andrea Walker, a judge for TeenBusiness Top Twenty 2017.

“The days of running lemonade stands has been surpassed by today’s teens who are taking youth entrepreneurship to the next level. More than ever, young people are taking advantage of their various talents and interests to establish serious businesses or to build upon their inventions,” says Emmanuel Modu, co-author of Mad Cash (Penguin Books) and TeenVestor: The Practical Investment Guide for Teens and Their Parents (published by TeenBusiness Media).
