IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Zadara® Storage, a California-based tech company, has committed to helping organizations in Florida, Texas and Puerto Rico get back on their feet following the devastation of Hurricanes Irma, Harvey and Maria. The company provides enterprise-class Storage-as-a-Service (STaaS) and will give impacted organizations access to its storage services at no-charge for six months while they rebuild their business infrastructure.
Company data — customer databases, contracts, HR records and financial systems — is mission critical to companies of all sizes, from small businesses to Fortune 100 companies. Without access to this data, organizations come to a halt. Thousands of businesses have been affected by the recent storms (an impact that is estimated to slow U.S. GDP by one percent this year) with many organizations losing their on-premises data centers due to water or facility damage. Businesses without significant cash reserves face even more business recovery challenges — like the long process of filing insurance claims and getting the money they need to get back up and running. To put this into perspective, it took years for 1.7 million insurance claims to be filed (totaling $41 billion) after Hurricane Katrina, according to the Insurance Information Institute.
“Our team was troubled by the incredible destruction of these storms and we want to help. Zadara Storage is not a large technology company with huge resources to offer, but we know our data storage services will be valuable to companies that have lost their IT infrastructure and data centers to the storms,” said Nelson Nahum, CEO and co-founder of Zadara Storage. “We understand that these organizations have to deal with many facets of recovery — and we can do our part. The cost for storage and IT infrastructure is considerable, and businesses shouldn’t wait until insurance claims clear. We can help now.”
The company’s Storage-as-a-Service offer can be leveraged by organizations in two ways:
- Zadara Storage On-Premises — Zadara Storage will ship its storage equipment to a company’s own site, where data can be restored and brought back to an operational state. Zadara Storage will provide the equipment and managed services (On-Premises-as-a-Service) free of charge.
- Zadara Storage In the Cloud — If a company would prefer to outsource its computing instead of incurring capital expenses, Zadara Storage will provide free storage services that connect to public cloud partners such as Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure or others to enable companies to bring their cloud-based infrastructure back online quickly, without incurring storage costs.
Impacted organizations can request assistance from Zadara Storage online and begin the process of getting their IT infrastructure up and running. The company is offering up to 1PB of Cloud and/or On-Premises-as-a-Service storage, at no-charge for six months. Additional details can be found here. Companies can end the service after the six months, no questions asked.
