LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Workiva (NYSE:WK), a leading provider of solutions for enterprise productivity, kicked off its annual Wdesk user conference, The Exchange Community, today with speakers who detailed how to solve common problems faced by Chief Financial Officers.
“More than 97 percent of CFOs and finance executives lose sleep worrying about missing deadlines, making mistakes or having adequate internal controls in place,” said Matt Rizai, Chairman and CEO of Workiva, citing recent research during his opening speech to a record crowd of nearly 1,700 Wdesk fans.
“CFOs will inevitably make uninformed or worse yet, wrong decisions, if they don’t have the right mix of people, tools and processes in place to manage the explosion of data now available to run the business,” Steve Klei, a seasoned CFO and corporate board member, said during a panel discussion. “When selecting tools, it’s important that CFOs give their teams the ability to pick their own tools to increase the success of deployment and ultimate use.”
“CFOs and their teams manage data from many different sources that needs to tie together, so if they rely entirely on legacy software systems that limit data transparency and integrity, they may be taking unnecessary risks,” said Stuart Miller, CFO of Workiva. “CFOs and management teams also need to know the context of that data, which can be provided by Wdesk because it allows narrative to be connected to the data and a full audit trail.”
Ian Charles, CFO of Host Analytics, a private software company that specializes in financial, planning, consolidation, modeling and analytics, told the audience that CFOs must ask how their data is being collected and how they ensure data accuracy is not compromised from disjointed systems. “Finance is a team sport, and people need to employ technology that provides a single source of truth to ensure visibility and control over their data and reports,” he said.
“Wdesk reduces CFOs’ worries and risks by enabling teams to work in one integrated environment that is collaborative, secure and always up-to-date,” said Rizai. “Wdesk helps our customers harmonize their data and gives them peace of mind by allowing them to see, control and understand how their data is created and changed before it’s reported.”
