Funding raised allows virtual and augmented reality production studio to expand role in cinematic VR

MONTREAL--()--UNLTD, a virtual and augmented reality (VR, AR) content and technology studio with vast experience in 3D, 360 and stereo camera development, today announced the close of its seed funding round with a total of $1,100,000 raised. The financing is led by a group formed by serial entrepreneur and Vrvana investor Richard D. Adler of Interdomus as well as media and entertainment investor David Reckziegel of Rex Media Capital. The money raised will be used to fund UNLTD’s continued expansion, providing full service branded VR/AR experiences for clients as well as the development of original virtual experiences for commercial distribution.

“Virtual and augmented reality are the next frontier in entertainment and branded content,” says co-founder and CEO, John Hamilton. “At UNLTD we are committed to driving immersive content to new levels. It’s an amazing new storytelling platform and we’re developing cutting edge production techniques for immersive content. With this funding, we have the opportunity to continue building on our current success with clients such as Universal Pictures (Fifty Shades Darker), A&E Networks (Fall Into Me) and brands such as L’Oréal Cosmetics and Intercontinental Hotels.”

In addition to an investment group led by Richard Adler, other investors include Senvest Capital, Rex Media Capital, Claude Gagnon, the former president of Technicolor Creative Services, and Richard Bridgwood, the former managing director of Entertainment One UK. The investment by these tech and entertainment industry veterans in UNLTD highlights a belief in the company’s mission and position within the growing immersive technology space. Richard Adler and Stuart “Kip” Cobbett of Rex Media Capital will join the board of UNLTD.

“Virtual reality is a platform to provide experiences unlike anything we have ever seen before,” says Adler. “We believe VR/AR is the way of the future in entertainment and our investment in UNLTD shows our commitment to the growth and development of new businesses and applications for VR/AR/XR content and technology.”
