AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--WP Engine, the leading WordPress digital experience platform, today announced the appointment of Lee McClendon to a newly created role as the company’s new Senior Vice President of Global Engineering overseeing our global technology teams.
McClendon brings more than 20 years’ experience leading engineering and software development teams as well as building large-scale, global cloud infrastructure and offerings. At WP Engine, McClendon will oversee teams responsible for ensuring the preeminent WordPress digital experience platform operates more securely, runs more efficiently, integrates well with best of breed technology solutions and is able to grow even faster.

Prior to WP Engine, McClendon was the Group Vice President of Engineering at SolarWinds in Austin where he led the company’s global engineering team of 600+ employees across 19 offices. McClendon was responsible for SolarWinds’ full product suite, including both SaaS and on-premise deployments.
