YOKNEAM, Israel--(BUSINESS WIRE)--RealView Imaging Ltd. announced its premiere medical holography product, the HOLOSCOPE-i™, will be powered by the Intel® RealSense™ SR300-Series Camera. HOLOSCOPE-i™ is the first product from RealView that is designed to deliver live, 3D holographic visualization and interaction capabilities to support medical interventional procedures. Based on RealView’s proprietary Digital Light Shaping™ technology, the system provides a unique and natural user experience, creating spatially accurate, three-dimensional, and interactive volumetric holograms within hand's reach.
Intel® RealSense™ technology enables truly intelligent devices that can see, understand, interact with, and learn from their environments. By combining Intel’s computer vision technology with RealView Imaging’s holographic technology, the HOLOSCOPE-i™ uniquely enables close-range, direct manipulation of holograms. RealView’s HOLOSCOPE-i™ has been ergonomically designed for use in clinical environments such as interventional cardiology suites, being the first commercial system allowing clinicians a true holographic experience, with full and direct control of the 3D images in real-time during the procedure. The precise image manipulation is a result of the interference-based, multi-plane, holographic technology by RealView, combined with the depth-sensing technology provided by Intel, together enabling the user to rotate, zoom, slice, mark and measure within the floating holograms.
“We are delighted to adopt the Intel RealSense technology for precise hand/finger navigation and tracking,” said Aviad Kaufman, RealView’s CEO. “Since our customers demand millimeter accuracy and very low latency for the interventional procedures, it is crucial for us to provide them with these useful, accurate and fast tools, based on the RealSense depth camera which we found to be the most advanced depth sensing technology out there today”.
“We are excited to see Intel RealSense technology expand to new industry applications such as healthcare with the augmented reality medical system from RealView,” said Sagi Ben Moshe, Vice President and General Manager of the RealSense Group at Intel Corporation. “With superior 3D depth-sensing and processing capabilities, RealSense enables the interaction with devices in a meaningful way for actionable insights and new user experiences.”
RealView Imaging’s HOLOSCOPE™ family includes a range of interference-based holography products that span from medical interventions, with the HOLOSCOPE-i™, scheduled for release in 2017, followed by the HOLOSCOPE-x™ for visualization and guidance of depth-registered holograms inside the patient, and the HOLOSCOPE-p™ Holographic Headset for the rapidly growing professional Augmented Reality markets.
