NEWARK, Del.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--GOLO, LLC today announced that it filed a lawsuit against ZoCo Productions, LLC, HARPO Productions, Inc., Mehmet Oz, M.D. and Keri Glassman for misleading consumers about GOLO on the doctoroz.com website and on the Dr. Oz TV show.
The Complaint was filed in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania (Civil Action No. 17-3407) and includes claims for Unfair Competition, False Advertising and Trade Libel.
“As a company, our mission is to provide healthy lifestyle solutions to consumers and when false and fake reviews are given, we feel we need to protect consumers, as well as our brand,” said Chris Lundin, CEO of GOLO. “While we cannot change the untrue statements that aired on the show, we are committed to doing what is right to help ensure the well-being of consumers.”
On July 12, 2017, the Dr. Oz TV show aired a segment where Keri Glassman “reviewed” “internet diets,” including GOLO. During the segment, false and misleading information was given about GOLO.
The information given is not only false and misleading to consumers, it is not without bias since Dr. Mehmet Oz and his website promote his own weight loss program which was not disclosed during the segment or on the website.
