BELLEVUE, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Edifecs, Inc., a global health information technology solutions company, today announced the successful implementation and go-live of the Nebraska Medicaid program’s new electronic data interchange (EDI) platform. Replacing the aging platform mitigates major risks by having transactions with significant volume (inbound claims and encounters) now deployed onto Edifecs’ Smart Trading Platform, a solution specifically designed to simplify data automation and streamline interoperability.
The State of Nebraska (NE) chose Edifecs as a partner for the joint replacement project effort, delivered by both Edifecs’ and NE Medicaid’s project teams. The collaborative approach allowed NE to minimize cost while ensuring adequate subject matter experts for mitigating project risks.
The performance of EDI platforms is mission critical to the success of Nebraska’s Medicaid program – if the EDI platform falters, business operations are impacted. This would directly impact health payers’ ability to process and reimburse claims. The new platform ensures data quality, critical for driving down administrative costs and increasing efficiencies of ongoing and future policy decisions.
NE Medicaid’s Smart Trading implementation includes:
- Healthcare transaction-focused platform
- EDI operations and CAQH CORE Operating Rules dashboards
- Fully supported industry leading platform delivered by subject matter experts
“We recognize how important EDI platform modernization is in order for healthcare organizations to realize the benefits of enhanced interoperability,” said Sunny Singh, CEO of Edifecs. “We’re committed to applying our technology and subject matter expertise to help our customers implement these updates. With our partnership in place, Nebraska’s Medicaid program has enhanced their ability to process claims seamlessly across all participating entities.”
