ASHEVILLE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Earth Fare, the authentic specialty organic and natural foods grocery store, opened its fifth greater Charlotte-area location on Wednesday, June 28 at 8885 Christenbury Parkway in Concord, North Carolina. Earth Fare was founded in 1975 in Asheville, and maintains a strong presence in North Carolina, with a total of ten locations around the state.
The company strives to offer a unique experience in each market it serves. Earlier this year, Earth Fare hosted a Local Vendor Fair in search of North Carolina’s best artisan products for the new store. The company interviewed dozens of local producers and growers before selecting more than 50 vendors, resulting in hundreds of North Carolina-produced products, including gluten- and dairy-free desserts and baking mixes from Dolci di Maria, and specialty cheeses from Boxcarr Farms.
In addition, the store made a $3,000 charitable donation to Children WIN, an initiative within Cabarrus Health Alliance dedicated to fighting childhood obesity. The funds, which include a generous donation from Earth Fare vendor Daddy Pete’s Plant Pleaser, will be used to implement a school garden in Cabarrus County.
Continuing its commitment to supporting the Concord area, Earth Fare connected with a wide range of community members through its Community Advisory Board. The Board is comprised of local health and wellness experts, as well as residents and community leaders. These individuals have been integral in tailoring the retailer’s approach to the in-store experience to ensure the store’s offerings meet the needs of local shoppers.
